Perhaps because Ronald United Methodist Church grew out of a Sunday School class, Christian Education
has always been a driving force in the life of this church. It was the burgeoning Sunday school population
resulting from the baby boom and the move to the suburbs of the late 1940’s and early 1950’s that gave the
impetus for the building of the chapel and education wing. Over the years the lessons that have been taught
here have helped equip children, youth and adults to handle life’s challenges and to assume positions of
leadership and service in the community.
Today our Christian Education Department seeks to spread the Gospel message through a variety of means.
At 9:30 on Sunday mornings September through May, we have classes for children three years of age through
adults. One adult class meets the needs of those who are new to Bible study, and another is for those who
have more Bible study background. Our classes are designed so that an individual can join one at any time,
and those who cannot attend every week are still able to participate.
There are a number of other avenues for learning. We have several Bible study groups including a Monday
morning group and two evening Disciple groups. Every summer, we sponsor a week-long Vacation Bible
School for preschool through high school that attracts many young people from the surrounding community.
Our United Methodist Youth sponsor several events during the year and enjoy get-togethers and outings.
